DAY 1 - LVIV

Arrival to Lviv. Meet & greet at the airport.

Transfer to the city center.

An ancient picturesque city which Prince Danylo Halytskiy built in the mid 13th century on the site of an old settlement and named it in honour of his son Lev.
Lviv is a city where the architecture of different epochs, styles and traditions of the East and West has combined into a unique architectural ensemble.

This is why the central part of the city was announced to be a historical and architectural preserve and was included into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Check in & dinner at the hotel.


DAY 2 - LVIV

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the French-chateau-style hilltop castle at Olesk.
The 17th to 18th century castle, built on the site of an earlier 13th century fortress which was repeatedly destroyed by Tatar attacks during the 15th century, was restored in 1960-75.

An 18th century former Capuchin church & monastery stands opposite the castle hill. The castle houses a museum of the 15th to 18th century Western Ukrainian & related art. Particularly interesting is the portrait gallery, which includes a huge 1692 canvas of the Battle of Vienna against the Turks in 1683.

Lunch at local restaurant.

A beautiful Neo-Renaissance Opera & Ballet Theater, numerous Catholic & Orthodox churches, the Pharmacy-museum that was set up in 1735 and has been working for more than 260 years on end.
But no visit to Lviv is complete without a hike up the Castle Hill where you can have a breathtaking view of the city.
Visit to the Museum of Ethnography, Arts & Crafts where you can observe an excellent collection of farm culture & folk art from Western Ukraine, ethnic dress, woodcarvings, ceramics & pysanky (painted eggs), embroidery.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Transfer to the train-station for overnight train to Kiev.


DAY 3 - KIEV

Arrival to Kiev. Meet & greet at the train-station.

Check in & breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the golden-domed Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Monastery.
The architectural ensemble (the 11th -19th centuries) of the Upper and Lower Lavra, two underground labyrinths of caves lined with mummified monks, churches and permanent exhibitions of the museums collections, the Big Bell Tower are open to public.

Lunch at local restaurant.

Visit to St. Sophia Cathedral & Monastery, enlisted into World Heritage of UNESCO.
The main of special value are wall pictures of the 11th century 260m² of mosaics and 3000m² of frescos, that make up a unique ensemble of the Middle Age of World Culture History.

DAY 4 - KIEV

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the Ukrainian Museum of Folk Architecture & Rural Life in Pirogovo.
It was founded in reserved area of peoples culture and gives bright picture of the 16-20th centuries: wooden cottages, churches & windmills, traditional furniture & tools. The museum is divided into seven small villages representing the regional areas of Podolia, Carpathia, Polesia, Poltava, Southern Ukraine, Sloboda Ukraine & the Central Dnipro River Valley.

Lunch at the restaurant on the territory of the museum.

Continue to St. Andrews church located at the northern end of the street & at the top of the charming Andriyivsky uzvis (descent). The church was constructed within 1747-1753 in Baroque style - the traditional Ukrainian five-domed, cross-shaped, by Rastrelli, an architect. The slender curves of its blue, white, gold & green exterior stand out against the skyline, perched up above the Podil district at the crest of the historic Upper Town, at the supposed site where the Apostle Andrew erected a cross. Its richly decorated interior features a three-tiered iconostasis & several paintings from the 18th century.

DAY 5 - KIEV - ODESSA

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure transfer for morning Kiev-Odessa flight.

Arrival to Odessa. Meet & greet at the airport.

The city tour starts with a lovely walk along the famous Prymorsky Boulevard.
The beauty lies in the early 19th century buildings, the shady promenade, the strip of park tumbling towards the sea & the sweep of the Potemkin Steps. The 193 steps, built between 1837 & 1841, descend from a statue of the Duc de Richelieu in a Roman Toga about halfway along the boulevard.
Continue to Pushkin statue, a British Tiger Gun, captured during the Crimean campaign.

Lunch at local restaurant.

Visit to Archeology museum established in 1875. The highlight is the Gold Room, which has jewelry & coins from early Black Sea civilizations, including the 1st Slavic coins of St. Volodymyr. Russian & Ukrainian literature is covered in the Literature Museum.

DAY 6 - ODESSA

Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out & departure transfer to the airport.
